Round 1 vs. Colin (Shaman - Horde)
I was against my own team mate and currently one of the top players. It was a fast game but slowly it went slower. Colin's hand was not that great but mine ... I have Sarmoth, Teep, Merry and some other abilities. Colin at a point did manage to control the board by killing all my allies with fire totem which I should have dealt with it sooner. In the end my allies came swarming out and attack the shaman, I can remember .. did i use Steal Essence to finish the shaman off. I took the game. Note to self, need to write down what i did.
[1-0]
Round 2 vs Jade (Mage - Horde)
Jade were using the promo mage from the Burning Crusade CE. Most of his allies come into play helping each other out giving other allies a +2 ATK and also with allies that comes into play, deal 1 fire dmg to target hero/ally. Most of the allies that I have was 1 health only. My hero keep on taking dmg and my allies keeps on dying. Later in the game ... i manage to use all my The Defias Brotherhood to draw massive cards and around 5-6 allies came on board (if im not mistaken). This game was a closed one.
[2-0]
Round 3 vs Don (Sen'zir - Horde)
Seem to me, im meeting horde on every round. Don hand's was not good and he mulligan .. but it was not good either. Most of his allies came out one at a time, which was not really a threat to me. I just keep on attacking and attacking his hero and the game was over.
[3-0]
And that was in, HL was over with me on top and I got a FoO booster pack for my troubles :) Thanks to Toybox for organizing this.
Cant wait for tomorrow cuz tomorrow will be the FoO Release Celebration at Toybox. Woohoo :)
Anyway ... to the players I got against with, sorry if i wrote the report wrongly as I have not slept for the pass few hours.

The Eye of a Spectral Tiger (A jump for JOY story)
Aaron came to the shop around 2pm+ and got a box as well, he also got a few good stuff, to name one .. its the card i need also, is the Unstable Affliction. A damn good warlock ability card. So we decided to go for lunch at the mamak shop downstairs of Toybox. I ordered curry mee soup + 2 Milo ais :yummy:. Got Slow (its a ablility card for Mage) from Hong for Colin.
Then Aaron decided to crack another box after shaking it a few times and saying .. sure got loot wan. As the box was opened, Hong jumped in and grab the 1st pack and opened it. He told us it was a loot but Aaron and myself dun believe him .. Hong kept os saying .. look, no hero cards but wil still dun believe. Hong slowy take a peek at the loot card and started to shout and jump for JOY !!!, Aaron when over to Hong side and have a look at it himself .. soon later, both started to jump.. and jump and shout as well. Damn lucky :) ... so I took my phone camera and took a picture of them with the card and including the loot card as well. It was a great day for both of em. Same to me as well.
Happy guys after getting the loot .. unknowed guy, Aaron and Hong

The Good and The Bad of Today
The Bad begins. Then after that the HL begins, just to skip ahead, i lost all 4 rounds. I was decktesting with a new female warrior, Victoria Jaton, its a warrior based deck combo with Twig of the World Tree and Mortal Strike. 1st round, i was against Raymond. He was using the Grumprys hunter deck which was used recently in the US Nationals. It was a good deck, with all untargetable allies. I just got bad draws and my Wraith Scyte did not come out, I cant heal myself, just taking damage all the time. 2nd round, i was against a new guy, sorry .. i did not know his name, he was using a Dizzy warlock deck, yet again .. i made another mistake and I did not even hear time was called during the match or I would have won but sadly, time was not on my side and I got he most damage on my hero ... and i loss. 3rd round, was against Charan, my mood was abit down already due to the mistake I made in the 2nd round. Charan was using Phadalus shammy deck, my hand was kinda bad, keep on drawing quests and only got a few a kris and some armor out on my side, something that Charan did .. well im not telling .. so its okie. In the end, the match he won. 4th round, Ron was using Sen'zir hunter deck. I just let him win. Well .. today match was very bad. Next time I should just stick to Pagatha warlock deck to be safe.
The bad continues .. after that I decide to go back with Charan using the LRT but when we reach the LRT ticket booth, the operator told use that the LRT having some problems and have to wait for an hour. I was like so pissed off. I was like saying "shit man" all the way. At that moment .. i when to use the bathroom at the LRT station and i drop my cell phone .. i was looking all over for it, luckly .. it was near the bathroom door, thanks goodness. So we waited for a taxi to arrive and it came and we took the taxi.
Finally im back home in my apartment. Rest and relaxing. Writing my blog. Thanks for reading. Alright .. need to call another fren now. Cheers.

More Lorwyn preview cards
The whole of last week ...
Here's a recap of what happen last week ...
Monday:
Celebrated my pre-birthday with my parents and Zack. Had pizza as a birthday dinner. Then head over to the internet café just to surf and chat via MSN. Head home around 12 midnight, played a few games of Magic The Gathering. After that was too tired to do anything else .. and when to bed.
Tuesday:
Woke up around 8am. Have my breakfast which is my birthday cake with my mom and my sis. A sweet birthday song was sang to me. After that, head over to Damamsara Perdana to sign some documentation for my new apartment. Had lunch, Yam Pork Rice … really nice. Head back to Cyberia. During the evening, played tennis with some DHL staff. Yup, tennis … which I did not played for a long time, the last time I played was during my secondary school, which I was in the state team. Those were the days.
Wednesday:
After 2 days of off … comes back my working day again. Damn a lot of work during the day until at some point, I even had a head ache. Decided to play some MWS with my frens online and then I called it a day.
Thursday:
Well … its my birthday today but nothing special really happen for me on the day. Its just like any other working day. I have some friends wishing me and that’s about it. Head back home, have my dinner and then back to my room, did some surfing and chatting. Sleep in my comfortable bed.
Friday:
Ahhh … here comes Friday. Usually people have plans to do during the night after work but not me, I had to work during the night. I have no problem with it as long the people I work with are alright.
Saturday:
I was supposed to meet my Magic friends over at Midvalley for some decktesting and drafting but decided not to go. I went over to Toybox instead for WOW TCG Hobby League. I got 2 win and 2 loss in the tourney. I played my Pagatha Control deck which goes against Xian, Fong Kai, Jade and Tommy. U can read all about it here in my previous blog entry. Practicing hard for Nationals and hopefully able to win it and get the change to goto World Championship over in San Diego, US.
The WOW US Nationals started today. Gorebelly decks seem to be dominating on Day1 constructed format where Mike Loconto’s Gorebelly deck had a successful 8-0 undefeated in Day1 of the tournament.
Sunday:
Today is another tournament day which is the Magic the Gathering Nationals Quaulifiers, which yet again im supposed to go for it but I had some insuffient funds. So, I stayed at home.
Day2 of the WOW US Nationals, here drafting skills was the key to success. Many top decks players in Day1 did not finished top 8 in Day2. The top8 decks that were qualified for Day 3 are 3x Gorebelly, 2x Phadalus, Aleyah, Grumpreys and Sen’zir.
The surprise was my friend, Zack was staying at his uncle’s place at Putrajaya. He drop by my place around 7pm. Showed him where the tennis and basketball courts were. He used my PC to start his blogging which can be found at http://novelsight.blogspot.com. His 1st blog entry was on the Harry Potter 7 book which he bought it at Alamanda. Taken some pictures of the book and the nice looking mug which he got as a freebie for buying the book. We ordered burgers for our dinner before he had to leave, but sadly the burgers was not ready on time. He went back to Putrajaya with his uncle. After that, I took a shower and when to bed.
Cheers

WOW TCG Hobby League (Report) - August 18, 2007
Round 1 vs. Jye Chang (Litori - Mage)
This game was kinda fast. As always, Litori is pack with massive abilities. I manage to have some board control and also manage to remove some key cards from his hand by using Eye of Kilrogg such as counterspells and Frost Nova. Later in the game, King Magni Bronzebeard was on board, I decided to Shred Soul King Magni but got countered by Counterspell. Basically there’s nothing I could do about it. I got beat down by King Magni all the way. The was all over.
Results: 0-1
Round 2 vs. Fong Kai (Pagatha - Warlock)
Control/Aggro vs. control in this match-up. Both of us were using Pagatha. I decide to keep my 1st 7-cards draw with 3 Sarmoth and the match started. Fong Kai has no allies for the 1st few turns as for me, my Sarmoth came down after 3 turn continuesly but Fong Kai kills it off easily with Shred Soul, Rain of Fire and Shadowbolt. The game continued on until Fong Kai has enough resources to cast out Spirit Healer. Both of us had Lokholar in our graveyard. As for me, at that time, I had a Fel Armor in play and 2 Rain of Fire. At the start of Fong Kai’s turn, he will received 6 points of damage with Lokholar and as for my start of turn, I will only received 3 points of damage to my Pagatha, the race on damage was on while Fong Kai waited patiently for Cannibalize. 6 points of damage really hurts. I won the match.
Results: 1-1
Round 3 vs. Jade (Timmy - Rogue)
Jade was trying a fun deck, well that’s what he said. Rogue is ultimately lethal when the right cards was on Jade’s side. I mulligan after my 1st draw. So, does Jade (I think). As always, I manage to gain board control for awhile when Jade weapons starts to show up especially Perdition Blade. Keep on hitting me and my protectors for 4 points of damage. All my The Haunted Mills were out in play and I used all of them but could not stop he rogue combo from executing. My hero keeps on receiving 4 points of damage and there’s nothing I could do to stop it and finished me off with Sinister Strike.
Results: 1-2
Round 4. vs. Tommy (Pagatha – Warlock)
This was another fast game. I kept my 1st draw but Tommy decided to mulligan. Tommy did not have any quest until the 5 turn, while after that I had Infernal in play. Tommy cast Hellfire to get my Infernal with 1HP left and finished it off with a 1/1 token from Ancient Cornerstone Grimoire.
Zh’lah Manslayer came down on my turn and then Tommy cast another Hellfire for another 5 points of damage. Tommy then cast Fel Armor followed by Nemesis Skullcap. I destroyed the Nemesis Skullcap by casting out Zygore Bladebreaker. In the end, after a few attacks were done, Tommy’s Pagatha is down to 6 hit points left and I ended the game by using Shadowburn and Steal Essense.
Results: 2-2
Yet again … I got another 2 win 2 losses. Same thing happen to me in FoO pre-released. I really don’t mind as long im happy to be back playing WOW tcg Hobby League.
Note: Sorry if the report is not accurate cuz, I remember the matches by hard. Perhaps nex time I should write it down.

Pre-Birthday Celebration
We had pizza for dinner. My sis ordered 3 choices of pizza, which is Hawaiian, Thai Seafood and the lastest cheese dip pizza which I do not know what is it call
After that, Zack and myself decide to play some Magic before going to the internet cafe that day. As always, I tried with my U/B Teachings deck against his type 1 R/G and R/Artifact deck. Most of the games I won but there's 1 game that I loss was that I forgotten to play the upkeep cost for Slaughter Pact.
We hang out in the cafe till 12mid, Zack finally created a blog for himself and even posted his 1st blog entry (I hope there's more to come Zack). He posted on his 1st story in a book called Write Out Loud, which is a complilation of short stories. Zack wants to be a writer and this is his 1st step, which I think its great.
U guys must be thinking, why there are no cake on my Birthday .. hmmm .. but there is. I only cut my cake this morning before i came back to Cyberjaya ... take a look
Its a plain and simple Choco cake with some Strawberry, Peach and kiwi fruit on top .. looks like a healthy cake to me .. LOL. Anyway, I really enjoy it .. had like to slice of cake and call it a day.
Thanks to my parents and my friend for taking the time to celebrate. God Bless :)
Cheers

4x Spell Snare
4x Remand
4x Rune Snag
1x Dimir Signet
We played a lot of games that day, almost 3 hours of decktesting. Some games I loss and some games I won. Thru my decktesting that day, most of the games I won was with massive counterspell in my 1st draw hand. I remember I had like 4 lands, 1 Reman, 1 Spell Snare and 1 Rune Snag, this was enough counterspells to make trouble for a red aggro deck. I also remember, if Desert were out on your 1st turn, it will be all over.
Some wins also by using my creature to beatdown my opponent. Creatures such at Teferi, Mage of Zhalfri, Tombstalker and Skeletal Vampire. Sometimes, I even use Vesuvan Shapeshift and copy the Skeletal Vampire to make more creatures during my opponent EOT.
I found out that Remove Soul is so good in this deck. It works well in aggro deck but I will certainly sideboard it against mirror decks. Haunting Hymn also helps a lot, discarding 3 Giant Solifuge and 1 Incinerate is so sweet.
I still think that this deck still needs to tweak up a little. A single Dimir Signet, Damnation and Tendrils of Corruption is still not enough. I will be adding more creature removal spells such as an extra Damnation, Tendrils of Corruption, Terror and also perhaps more counterspells such as Delay and Cancel.
The reason I loss some games to the mono-red decks is due to lack of lands or too many lands and lack of counterspells. Even with a single mountain, my opponent can even finished me off will Greater Gargadon, Keldon Mauraders and some burn spells.
My next deckteast will be against Blink variants decks. The current meta at my area are mostly Blink and Rakdos decks. I will keep updating my blog on my decktesting. Stay tune.
Cheers

Tried this decklist with some frens over at Comics Corner. Mostly tested out with Rakdos deck. Sometime I win and sometimes I loss. Tombstalker is the game winner for my deck. The only thing i did not find usefulness are Brine Elemental and Vesuvan Shapeshifter. Most prolly I will replace it with more Damnation and Extirpate. I also find that the single signet is not worthy in the deck as well, im still thinking of what to replace it with ... whats on my mind is either extra Repeal or Cancel. I need all the counterspells i can get. The current meta got Nats Qualifiers, if im not mistaken .. will be Blink variants and Rakdos decks.

I bring him down to 6 life left and he Tendrils to 14 life and yet again .. i brought him down to 8 life left and he Tendrils to 17 life. That nuttin i can do anymore. He then beatdown me with Triskelavus.
Game2: When we decided to play game2, time was called. So the game ended with a draw.

Round 2: Mono-Blue Pickles
Game1: Its another mirror match-up. This game was fast, my cretures did not come out and i lost.

Result: 0-1-1
Round 3: Reanimator

Game2: Kill my Hellkite 4 times and i lost.
Result: 0-2-1
So .. thats no way for me to go far or even make it to top 8. So .. i dropped the tourney and playing fun Magic with my frens. Now .. I hope to get top 4 in Nats Qualifiers.
