Farewell HD-DVD

The war is over, the war between Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. The victor is Blu-Ray. Since Warner Bros decided to move toward Blu-Ray exclusive movies early this year, HD-DVD has begun tumbling down. In the recent news, Toshiba has resigned itself from supporting HD-DVD, for that .. HD-DVD is consider dead. Toshiba has always been a very strong supporter for HD-DVD in the past and I was hoping that HD-DVD will stay longer ... I guess not.

Anyway, Im still having my HD-DVD add-on at home and I wanted to sell it off but still reconsidering because I will be getting a PS3 by this coming April. I will see how lar. The good news is the price for HD-DVD movies will drop like crazy and most of it are at Amazon. Hooray for that :)

Paramount/Dreamworks and Universal: "Still supports HD-DVD"

This is an updates on hd-dvd in CES 2008 and this is certainly a good news for hd-dvd. After sadly seing Warner Bros leave hd-dvd and will stop producing hd-dvd till May 2008, Paramount/Dreamworks and Universal decided to support hd-dvd which was announce today at the CES 2008. Im really happy and glad about this. Paramount and Universal has been making great hd-dvd movies such as King Kong and the Bourne trilogy. These year great movies by Paramount are Iron-Man and by Universal are Indiana Jones. Cant wait for those 2 movies to be on hd-dvd.

Warner Bros goes Blu-ray exclusive, New Line and HBO might follow

I was sad after hearing the news today that Warner Bros (WB) will be going Blu-ray exclusive and that New Line Cinema and HBO might just tag along with them. If that is true, I will not see Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Dark Knight both coming out on hd-dvd. This kinda sux because I am looking forward to the LOTR trilogy on hd-dvd. I guess I will be getting my Playstation 3 (PS3) sooner than I thought.

More news and future for the hd-dvd format will be announce at the CES 2008 convention happening this coming Sunday in Los Angeles.

Will update when I get more news on this.

HD DVD batch #1 arrives

Finally my batch of hd dvd's has finally arrives from Amazon, thanks goes to Zerg for helping me out. Met with him at 1U yesterday and collected it. Was at Starbucks 1U enjoying my iced Caremel Machiato (opps .. dunno if the spelling is correct LOL) with Chicken Fingers Sandwich and Blueberry Snow Donut. Then my stomach did not feel so good ... might be the coffee cuz i drank 2 venti size in a row. LOL.

Anyway decided to hang around at GH (Gamers Hideout) and was so close on getting COD4 (Call of Duty 4) but decided to pass it up till next time.

Got back home to my apartment around 5.30pm, abit sleepy cuz did not slept since last nite, so ... i slept for like 1 hour and could not sleep anymore. That nite, I was eager to watch Superman Returns hd dvd .. and so i did. The PQ (Picture Quality) is good but still can see some film grains on the darker parts of the movie. The lighting is simply fantastic. Its a good film transfer to hd dvd.

Tonight, I think i will be watching Batman Begins.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Is that time again, where everyone is in a joyful mood. Yea .. it's Christmas. As u all know, i got an early Christmas present for myself which is a Xbox360 hd-dvd external drive


and im luvin every minute of it. So far the movies i watch it hd were Transformers, Aeon Flux, King Kong (MUST watch) and V for Vedentta. I was thinking of buying Harry Potter Year 1-5 hd-dvd collector's boxed edition, looks really cool but abit expensive.


Well ... it has been 2 weeks since i order my Transformers hd-dvd from Play-Asia and until now, it has not arrived. I hope it will be today. The one i watched belongs to Zerg.

Another HD-DVD into my collection

Yeah .. thats right, I have added yet another hd dvd movie into my collection. This month has been a crazy month for me over hd dvd movies, since this month there's no Xbox360 games to buy ... im spending my time watch movies. After watching The Dark Knight trailer, I told myself I had to get it, yupz .. u guessed it, its Batman Begins.

Autobots, transform and roll-out ... kekukah kukeku :)

Got my hd-dvd external drive from Gamers Hideout yesterday as my Xmas present. I know its abit early but who cares. Along the way, I also manage to sell off my Halo 3 limited edition and lend Transformers hd-dvd from Zerg, could not wait for my one to arrive from Play Asia. When straight back home and try it out. I was very surprise after watching it and notice the film is super sharp and crystal clear and also the sound it awesome eventho im using 4.1 speakers.

Some parts of the film I did not even notice in the cinema cuz it was kinda blurry but on the HD-DVD, i was shock to have seen it. Im glad i got the external drive. Now, I just have to wait for the rest of my hd-dvd movies to arrive to me. Next I will be watching the extra contents of Transformers. "More than meets the eye"

Yea .. more HD-DVD for myself. Amazon is have this awesome deal, buy 1 free 1 promotion. So I decided to add 2 more HD-DVD to my collection and they are Lady in the Water and Superman Returns. Transformers and Stardust HD-DVD

Can wait for these two awesome HD-DVDs coming my way. 1st, Transformers HD-DVD is a must for all fans of the animated series and for all who will be getting a HD-DVD player soon. Im still waiting for mine to arrive from Play-Asia. My 2nd HD-DVD will be Stardust which will only be out on December 18, 2007. This movie also is a must for me, I when to see this movie with Zach a few months back and it was indeed awesome. Its a fantasy movie with a bit of sci-fi in it.
