Gear of War @ Autumn (Internet cafe)

Friday morning, woke up early and went with Zack for breakfast at Modern mamak shop near my house. Eat our breakfast and then we went to Autumn, a internet cafe near my house also. told Zack about the shop plans to bring in Xbox360 console with games, and Zack told me, thay already did. It was cool. The Xbox360 were in the shop with a HUGE plasma screen TV .. i think is 42".

I called up the owner which is a friend of mine, asked him if I could just play Gears of War (GOW) for awhile .. he said no problem. So, I tested out the game and see how many ppl i could extract, the crowd who saw me playing the game were alot, i over heard a guy saying that the graphics for GOW damn good. I played from 9.30am till 10.30am and decided to call it quits cuz need to get back home and prepare myself to go out again.

MTG: Road to Valencia (Deck Test #1)

When back home to Klang after the MTG Draft at Manawerx. Called Zack and ask him to come over to my place to play Magic. We played till around 1.30am. After a few games of standard type 2 games, i decided to test out my PicklesBlink, which is a block constructed deck agianst my own R/G Aggro standard deck. I loss all the games but standard deck is just too strong for a block deck. Thats not the point whether I loss or win, the point is I still unable to control the deck, still need more practice. MTG Draft session @ Manawerx

On Thursday, me and my friends decided to meet up for MTG Draft session at Manawerx, PJ. I turn up at the store around 3pm. I meet up with Wee Kiat and Khairul, both of them and myself plan the draft session on that day. It was a last minutes thingy which we will not know that we still lack of 5 players more.

So we decided to wait for more players to arrive. Finally after waited for 2 1/2 hours, Shaun and Peter showed up, the shopkepper Xeon also decided to join us for the draft. The players that drafted that day were myself, Wee Kiat, Khairul, Peter, Shaun and Xeon. Its a 6-man TSP booster draft.

After openning all 3 packs consist of Time Spiral, Planar Choas and Future Sight boosters, I finally has a 40-card deck to play. I called it my "Rojak" deck. Here's my decklist ...

Well honestly .. i sux at draft due to lack of practice and this is my 1st time drafting. My result were 1-2 loss. The winner were Peter. Well .. i manage to get my hands on Body Double and Dust Elemental .. good enuff for me :)

MTG: Road to Valencia (PTQ Valencia)

Its tournament time again for me, next week will be the PTQ (Pro Tour Qualifiers) Valencia Magic tournament. This tournament will be TSP Block constructed. It will be held on August 5, 2007 at Comics Corner Subang Jaya. 1st prize will be invitationals + accommodation to PT Valencia or USD 375. Basically, for players who cant goto the PT will use the cash prize, as for me .. im going for the invitational prize. Is worth to try.

Now .. I come to the decks that I wll be using for the PTQ. I have to choices, either i use the Pizza Stompy (Mono-red) deck or the U/B Control (Blue/Black) deck. Decks details as below ...

Onyxia Lair Playmat (WOW TCG)

Finally the Onyxia Lair playmat for the World of Warcraft TCG aws delivered to my doorstep a few days agao after a long wait of 7 weeks. It looks really nice and cool. Very detail as well.

This is a recap of the tournament. Upon registration ... i recieved some nice foils and a pack of DCI lands (all 5 colors). There were 36 players on that day and I have to play 6-rounds of swiss. 1st round I was again Mark Pui with his Blink deck, I was lucky to have the win cuz he DQ and reason why is, Mark uses Stone Rain which is not re-printed in 10th ed. 2nd round was against La Faber and he was also piloting Blink and I lost that game. The 3rd-6th rounds, I decided not to keep any records of who am I playing with cuz Im always the last player to complete my match ... im playing contol deck .. thats why. Anyway the 3rd-6th rounds, I was defeated by another Blink decks, draw against a Solar Flare deck (I think), won Korlash Control deck and the last match I lost to a Korlash Control deck. My result was 2-3-1 .. thats means 2 wins, 3 loss and 1 draw and my rank 23rd for that tourney. Got a Future Sight boosters as a prize.

My MVP cards .. yeah, there's 2, Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir and Aeon Chronicler. My wins and draw all came from those 2 cards. The most useless card I have in my deck is Arcanis the Omipotent, always in my hands. I should have replace it with Venser, Shaper Savant.

Overall, I enjoy myself. My next tournaments will be the PTQ Valencia (Block constructed), that will be happening on August 5, 2007, the deck I will be using either Pizza Stomy or Dralnu, and the other one is Nationals Qualifiers (Type2), is on August 19, 2007. This will be the last chance to ever qualify for the Nationals. So ... guess .. i have to practice, practice and practice.

Well .. thats all the recap I can think of. I will be doing another recap on the PTQ Valencia.

Basketball Sunday :)

While I was back home in Klang, I decided to join some friend on Sunday morning for some basketball action. Myself with 4 other friends .. Zack, Ganesh, Tze Ming and Ruben. We did not play a serious game cuz most of the time, we were laughing our ass off. We did play steps basketball and my 3-pointer sux badly. Ganesh was the first to complete the game and i followed closely behind. After that, it was just pure fun and play. Hope to do it again soon.

After the basketball game, Me and the gang went for duck rice, no pic for that one :). Then we headed back home.

Magic Games Day - 10th Ed. Release Party

July 15, 2007 marks the day of the Magic Games Day event and it was the 10th Ed. Released Party that was held at Manawerx located at Millenium Square in PJ. Around 29 players from the Klang Valley attend this released party.

I did not know who won that day cuz I need to get back to home early. There will be another Magic tourney on July 22, 2007 and I will be attending for sure but as always .. i gtg to work after that.

My Sister's Birthday Dinner

Well ... i guess im kinda late on this post. Supposed to post this on July 14, 2007. I was kinda busy. Decided to when back home to Klang to celebrate my sister's birthday in a kinda fancy dining place. The food is very nice .. feel like coming back here on my birthday :)

The place I went, as u can see .. its called Denny & Partners Sandwich but I did not see any sandwich on the menu. Anyway, I started off with a bowl of mushroom soup. Its a huge bowl and it taste natural, not like the ones I had in other places. My dinner meal was Old Grill something (forgotten edy lar). It was served with beef, lamb and chicken (all grill) with mash potatos, egg and vegi. After that I could hardly eat anything else :) BURP!!!

Friday Night Magic

As most of u guys who read my blog, that I started playing Magic (MTG) back again and still using my GRuul deck. Today when to Comics Corner (CCSJ) and saw a few MTG players started cracking 10th Ed. boosters cuz it just release today. I was tempted by it and I, myself crack open 7 packs, yeah .. i was that crazy LOL. I got nuttin that great in my packs except for the Adakar Waste pain land. I was happy enuff to get that.

After that, the players decided to play FNM. I was well prepared cuz my deck is with me but I was not prepared for the match. I played 3 rounds in total. 1st round, was up against a mono-red deck, lost to him cuz my creatures was not around. After that, the 2nd round, it was against Mike Toh but I got a win cuz he did not play :p. Elvis gain life deck was my 3rd round opponent, loss to him also. Guess I need more practice. Come to think of it, I might go back to control decks which Im more exprience in it. I was thinking of either building a U/B deck or a Pickles deck (mono-blue). I have not really decided yet.

Expelliarmus !! .. Wingardium Leviosa !! .. Stupefy !! (No Spoilers)

Expelliarmus !! what it means is disarms your opponent, it has nuttin to do with this blog but got alot to do with the movie. No worries ... NO SPILERS HERE !!!

Got to see the movie today at Midvalley. I luv this the most out of all the previous Harry Potter movies. Alot of action indeed and finally Harry decided to take matters into his own hands but always he has Hermione and Ron to back him up.

The only person i dislike in the movie is Professor Dolores Umbridge, she is a BITCH. See the movie and you will know why. Any fans of Harry Potter or even not, should watch this movie. You will be 101% sastified with it.

Well ... a shocking ending ... no! no! .. i will not spoiled it. Enjoy :)

MTG Xth Edition: Troll Ascetic

Its almost 2am now and right after a great game of Gears of War with my frens, I decide to blogin for the nite. While surfing, looking around LYN forum and also some spoilers for MTG Xth Edition cards, my fren Evo gave me a great idea for my Gruul deck which will replace Kird Ape when Xth ed. rolls in. Check this out, Troll Ascetic, superb card but the problem is ... its a rare. All i I can hope is ppl dun hunt for it, i know i will sure be hunting for this particular card.

Its GOOD being BAD !!!

Its GOOD being BAD, its not what u think. It a Xbox360 game that I just got today and it's called Overlord. Well, the game is for u to be the baddest Overlord in the region. U will be controlling gremlins like creatures to do ur bidding by killing sheeps, villages and other heroes in the region, while doing that, u will get artifacts to rebuild ur ruthless castle of darkness .. muahahahaha !! XD

The controls are slightly different, esspecially the camera controls. Graphics wise ... not that bad, more towards Fable-ish kinda graphics (Fable is a game also)

If u r reading this and do not know what to get for ur Xbox360 pleasure time ... this will be the ONE. It will let u glued to the controller and u will forget about Gears of War .. well, almost :)

WOW TCG Hobby League

Today was my 1st time attending WOW TCG Hobby League since few months ago. I have been inactive due to work and other commitments but now ... it seem to slow down abit and for that im able to play again. Very few ppl today .. i think it was around 8 players only. Some new players join the hobby league and I manage to play with 2 of them, it was certainly a good exprience for them but not for me. I feel bad pulling my combo out which is Sprit Healer and Lokholar and then it was all over, I won.

Me and Colin when down to eat bah-kut teh after the hobby league, it was nice and I also cant remember since when i did not had bah-kut teh.

After that decided to head home, take a shower, have my dinner and off to work again. thats life.

Magic The Gathering Nationals Qualifiers 2007

It that time again. MTG Nationals Qualifiers happenning this coming Sunday (July 8, 2007). For myself, im still thinking if I should go for it or not. I still dunno what deck to use, my choices are, either the U/B Pickles deck (control) or the GRuul deck (R/G Beatdown). Been practicing both deck since last week.

Perhaps I might just go and watch only. Who knows, I might turn up playing and qualify for the MTG Nationals on September 2007.

WOW Nationals on August and MTG Nationals on September ... im surely be brain dead after both tournament. LOL :)

Xbox Live Messenger

Well .. nuttin much happen today, same old ! same old !. Since my PC is unavailable at the moment, I really miss chatting with my friends on MSN which I cant do at the moment. So ... I decided to try using MSN via my Xbox360 console, instead of calling it MSN, i gave it a name ... the Xbox Live Messenger (XLM for short). Chat with a few friends today using that, not bad but abit slow in typing cuz basically ... err .. u cant really type cuz there are no keyboard provided ( wish there is), so ... will just have to use my controller to type the message.

Another day has gone by so fast and im so damn tired and u guessed it ... im working graveyard shift for at least another 4 more days.

The Comic Book :)

Just got this last night at Comic Mart @ Midvalley Megamall. Is the Raymond E. Feist Magician Apprentice Vol.1 HC comic which was adapted from the novel of the same name. Have not really read it yet but will do so in due time. I can still remember my friend Rakesh, who is a Raymond E. Feist recommended me this book to read and at that time I was kinda busy with work .. or perhaps just lazy to read but now since its a comic book .. ill shall read it. No hard feelings Rakesh. :)

New Commitments and Transformers

Well ... where do i start. Yea .. been very buzy these past few weeks. Already bought an apartment Neo Cyber near my work place here in Cyberjaya. Even my loan is finally approved and i even got a DVD player just for my troubles .. LOL :)
Im still looking for a room to stay (only some knows the truth) but still no luck, hope to moved in by end of this month, is yet to be confirm.

When out with some friends to watch Transformers, what can i say .. the movie was AWESOME !!. Optimus Prime is still cool and Starscream is still a coward, if u wanna know why i said that .. go watch the movie. I recommend watch at a THX cinema (Summit USJ), it will worth ur RM10 for sure.
